Grant Drops 26 But Top-Ranked Christopher Newport Too Much for Women’s Basketball

The sophomore registered her ninth straight double-double and her 18th straight game scoring in double figures

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Sophomore Kylie Grant scored 26 points in a double-double effort but the Pratt Institute women's basketball team couldn't keep pace with No. 1/No. 3 Christopher University University falling 107-34 in a Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference matchup from the Activity Resource Center on Saturday afternoon.

Grant also pulled down 11 boards for her ninth double-double of the season. She finished 12-of-16 from the free throw line and swiped four steals. Almudena Valenzuela netting five points with a pair of steals and assists.

McKenna Snively led the undefeated Captains (19-0) with 32 points off the bench. Ashley Steadman added 12 points and fell one rebound show of a double-double as four finished in double figures for the No. 1 team in the latest Women's Basketball Coaches Association poll and the No. 3 team in the D3hoops.com poll.

CNU raced out to an 18-0 cushion to start the contest and finished shooting 54 percent from the field.

After four straight at the ARC, Pratt (1-17) makes the short trip down Willoughby Avenue to face Clinton Hill foe St. Joseph's University - Brooklyn on Tuesday, January 31 starting at 5 p.m.
