NEW YORK – Five different Cannoneers scored a goal as the Pratt Institute women's soccer team recorded a 6-0 clean sheet over Five Towns College on Thursday afternoon in a home contest at Randall's Island Field 70.
Pratt (5-4) moves back above .500 for the second time this season after winning back-to-back games with their third shutout of the season.
The Cannoneers took a 2-0 lead as the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference top two goal scorers found the back of the net in the first 13 minutes. Siena Sujitno opened the scoring in the 10th minute for her league-leading 16th goal and Kat Thomsen followed in the 13th minute with her C2C second-best 11th tally.
Emma Pratt scored from the penalty spot in the 20th minute and Sophia Thorne scored again in the 22nd minute off a feed from Thomsen.
The gold-and-black built a 5-0 advantage by the 30th minute as Annabella Russell headed in a corner kick service from Thomsen. Emma Pratt bagged her brace with the lone goal in the second stanza coming in the 87th minute.
Pratt finished with a 40-3 shot discrepancy for the contest and an 11-2 edge in corners. Emma Gaspari stopped the lone Sound shot on target for the shutout in goal.
Pratt hits the road for their next three games and heads to William Paterson University on Monday, October 16 for a 6 p.m. road test.
