FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Pratt Institute women's tennis team improved to 6-0 on the season with a 9-0 sweep of future Atlantic East Conference foe Immaculata University on Sunday afternoon at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
Pratt scored convincing wins in all of their matches. Pallavi Verghese and Beatrice Crespo chipped in two points each at the top of the lineup teaming up for an 8-2 win in the lead doubles match and Verghese prevailing 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 singles and Crespo winning 6-1, 6-3 in the No. 2 spot.
Ariana Castro and Srishti Agarwal produced an 8-1 victory at No. 2 doubles in their lone match of the day.
Nastazja Cancellaro topped her opponent at No. 3 singles 6-2, 6-1 and Julia Ognibene bypassed her No. 4 singles opponent 6-1, 6-0.
Immaculata (2-2) defaulted the remaining three matches to spot the Cannoneers a 3-0 lead.
Pratt will wrap up the fall portion of their schedule on Thursday, October 19 against borough foes Brooklyn College in a road match with the men starting at 2 p.m.
