YONKERS, N.Y. – The Pratt Institute men's soccer team succumbed to a pair of second-half goals in a 2-0 defeat to Sarah Lawrence College on Monday evening at Fleming Field.
Pratt (1-10-1) weathered a 12-2 shot discrepancy in a scoreless opening 45. But Sarah Lawrence (4-10-1) broke the deadlock less than 10 minutes into the second stanza on an Aidan Roney marker in the 54th minute.
The Cannoneers remained within one and searched for the equalizer before the Gryphons netted an insurance goal in the 88th minute.
Pratt finished with an 8-3 edge in corners while the hosts finished with a 20-7 edge in shots.
Morvens Regis fired four of the Pratt shot attempts with Griffin Benkovszky, Theo Goldman and Jude Fox registering a shot apiece. Carter Tillman and Dimitris Papagiannakopoulos combined for five shots each.
Pratt travels to Elizabethtown College on Thursday, October 26 for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
