Three Finish in Double Figures as Men’s Basketball Falls to Hunter

Pratt plays first road game Friday at FDU-Florham at 6 pm

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Pratt Institute men's basketball team had their first blemish of the season with an 88-54 defeat to Hunter College on Tuesday evening at the Activities Resource Center. The Cannoneers saw their two-game streak stopped and they end their three-game home stand at 2-1.

Senior Patrick O'Gorman, named C2C Player of the Week yesterday, led the Cannoneers with 12 points, five rebounds and four assists. Justin Caver and Jaden Young chipped in 11 points each, both grabbing a pair of rebounds and Young swiping two steals.

Hunter (1-2) scored the first eight points of the contest before Pratt responded with a 12-3 spurt to take the lead. But the Hawks responded with an 8-1 spurt and never trailed again, pulling away to a 48-27 lead at the intermission and the Cannoneers couldn't cut into the deficit in the second half.

Pratt was held to 33 percent shooting (17-of-52) and 25 percent from three-point land (6-of-24) while Hunter connected on 53 percent (34-of-64) of their attempts and shot 46 percent (16-of-35) from deep.

Kareem McDonald led all scorers with 24 points and Jack Meyers added 15 points and 12 rebounds to led the visitors.

The gold-and-black hit the road for the first time this season playing in the Rose City Classic and facing Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham in a first round matchup on Friday, November 17 at 6 p.m.
