Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |

Men’s Volleyball Stymied By Medgar Evers and Lancaster Bible in Home Tri-Match

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Pratt Institute men's volleyball team fell on the wrong side of straight-set decisions with borough rivals Medgar Evers College (25-21, 25-19, 25-23) and Colonial States Athletic Conference foes Lancaster Bible College (25-13, 25-8, 25-9) on Saturday afternoon at the Activity Resource Center.

Jason Raymond paced the offense in the opener putting away a team-high seven kills with six digs. Max Wang chipped in five kills with a team-best 12 digs. Brooks Reid, Devaun Longley and Eli Toker chipped in three kills each.

Sebastiann Perez logged a 20-kill, 10-dig double-double and Austin Romeo had a 36-assist, 13-dig effort for Medgar Evers (4-10).

Medgar Evers never trailed in the first two sets before a battle for the third ensued. Pratt built a five-point lead at the 11-6 mark before the teams drew even at 12-all. Neither team could move ahead by more than three as there were nine more ties and five lead changes, but the Cougars outscored the black-and-gold 4-2 after the 21-all mark.

In the finale, CSAC-unbeaten Lancaster Bible (15-9, 4-0) hit a blistering .611 to silence the Cannoneers. Pratt (2-15, 0-5) was led by Brooks' five kills, while Wang and Longley chipped in a pair of kills.

Christian Herr and Ben Latham combined for 15 error-free kills to pace the Chargers.

Pratt returns to the ARC next Saturday for their final home games of the season hosting Bryn Athyn College and Bard College on Saturday, April 1 starting at 11 a.m.
