Women’s Tennis Falls in C2C Quarterfinals to Salisbury

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The No. 5-seeded Pratt Institute women's tennis team saw their 2022-23 campaign come to a close with a 5-0 defeat to No. 4-seeded Salisbury University on Friday morning in the quarterfinal round of the 2023 Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Championship, hosted by Christopher Newport University at James River Country Club.

The Cannoneers end their season with a 9-3 overall record, more than doubling their win total from the previous season.

After sweeping the doubles session, the Sea Gulls (13-5) collected wins at No. 2 singles and No. 1 singles to clinch the match and advance to face top-seeded University of Mary Washington.

Senior Sophie Bischoff led the Pratt lineup and collected four games at No. 1 singles in a 6-1, 6-3 defeat. She concludes her collegiate career with a 19-7 singles record having played all but three matches in the lead position.
