LA PLUME, PA – Junior Ava Hunwick played a part in seven goals and classmate Siena Sujitno scored four times as the Pratt Institute women's soccer team nabbed a convincing 9-0 road win over Keystone College on Wednesday evening to get into the win column.
Hunwick scored a pair of goals and handed out five assists – both career highs – to extend her point-scoring streak to three games. Sujitno matched her career high of four goals and also assisted on another to set a new career single-game high in points and extend her goal-scoring streak to three games.
Rookies Emma Pratt and Annabella Russell also scored their first collegiate markers in the victory. Pratt scored two goals and assisted on two more while Russell found the back of the net one. The victory was the first of the season for the Cannoneers (1-2) and the first for Travis Blair as Pratt head coach.
Emma Pratt opened the scoring less than five minutes in from a feed by Hunwick. Hunwick pushed the lead to two with her tally in the nine minutes later. Sujitno would score the next four markers for the black-and-gold with two before intermission (24', 35') for a 4-0 halftime lead and two more in the first 13 minutes of the second stanza (49', 58') for a 6-0 cushion.
Hunwick and Emma Pratt bagged their braces in the 66th and 72nd minutes before Russell capped off the scoring in the 74th minute.
The Cannoneers outshot Keystone (0-3) by a 24-9 margin with sophomore Emma Gaspari making five saves for her fourth career shutout.
Pratt looks to level their record this Sunday, September 17th hosting York College in a 4 p.m. tilt at Randall's Island Park kicking off at 4 p.m.
