BRONX, N.Y. – Sophomore Griffin Benkovszky converted a penalty but the Pratt Institute men's soccer team was handed a 4-1 result on the road by Lehman College on a hot Thursday evening tilt at the South Field.
The Lightning (1-2) opened the scoring in the 16th minute with a goal by Mohamed Ali Sogoba and the contest remained 1-0 at the break. The hosts scored just over a minute into the second stanza and tacked on goals in the 57th and 61st minutes to expand their cushion to four.
Benkovszky got the Cannoneers (0-2) on the board as regulation winded down with a penalty kick in the 89th minute. Benkovszky finished with a pair of shots and Jude Fox also registered a shot.
The Pratt men's and women's soccer teams host their home opening doubleheader on Saturday, September 9. The men hosting City College of New York at Randall's Island Field 10 with a 2:45 p.m. scheduled kickoff.
