Early Lead Not Enough for Women’s Soccer at Home Against Ramapo

Sujitno opened the scoring with her second goal of the seaon in the 15th

NEW YORK – Junior Siena Sujitno netted another early goal to give the Pratt Institute women's soccer team a quick lead on Saturday afternoon at Randall's Island Field 10, but visiting Ramapo College of New Jersey left with a 6-1 result to spoil the first home game of the season.

Ava Hunwick and Sujitno connected for the second time in as many games to give Pratt (0-2) an early one-goal lead. In the 16th minute, Hunwick sent a through ball that Sujitno ran onto and slid it past the keeper on her second touch.

Ramapo (1-2) responded with a goal seven minutes later from Carla Goodwin and Goodwin three more times in the 29th, 37th, and 68th minutes to lead the Roadrunners to their first win of the season.

The game was called in the 84th minute with lightning in the area.

Sujitno finished with five shots (four on goal) to lead the Cannoneers. Emma Gaspari made nine saves in a losing effort in goal.

Pratt returns to the pitch on Monday, September 11 heading to Lehman College to make up a game rescheduled from Thursday. Kick-off is set for 4:30 pm.
