NEWTON, Mass. — The Pratt Insitute women's volleyball team played their final tune-ups before beginning Atlantic East Conference play falling in straight-set defeats to Lasell University and Suffolk University on Saturday afternoon.
In their opening match with host Lasell (16-3), Colleen Russell led the attack with six kills and six digs. Emily Sontag dished out six assists with a kill and Emma Leavey brought up a team-high nine digs. The Lasers hit .300 and took the match 25-10, 25-14, 25- 13.
Russell paced the attack again against Suffolk putting down nine kills with a solo block and an ace. Emily Sontag, Alison Tag and Kelsy Padilla chipped in three kills each. Leavey served up four aces and brought up 10 digs. The Cannoneers hung tough in sets one and three in a 25-20, 25-5, 25-20 defeat.
Pratt (5-11) returns to the comforts of the ARC and welcomes Marymount University for their inaugural Atlantic East Conference match and their Dig Pink Game on Saturday, October 19 starting at 11 a.m.
