IMMACULATA, Pa. — Kat Thomsen scored twice to lead the Pratt Institute women's soccer team to a 3-2 Atlantic East Conference victory over Immaculata University on Saturday afternoon at Draper Walsh Stadium.
The Cannoneers (4-9, 1-3) never trailed in the win, Thomsen opening the scoring in the 7th minute off an assist from Siena Sujitmo. Pratt doubled their lead off Alyssa Trujillo's second of the season with Sujitno picking up her second assist and Claire Hook also assisting on the play.
The black-and-gold built on their 2-0 halftime lead when Thomsen scored just three minutes into the seconds stanza fed by Trujillo, but the Mighty Macs responded less than a minute later on Mia Perrone's first of the season.
Immaculata (6-8-1, 2-2) made it a one-goal affair in the 67th minute on Addison Yackel's tally and the hosts fired seven shots in the final 20 minutes seeking the equalizer but Emma Gaspari made three crucial saves in the final 15 minutes, including one in the final 30 seconds to preserve the win.
Pratt overcame a 31-7 shot discrepancy and 7-1 in corner kicks to snap a seven-game skid. Gaspari finished with nine saves in the victory.
The Cannoneers return home to celebrate Senior Day on Wednesday, October 23 hosting Centenary University in an Atlantic East Conference matchup kicking off at 7 p.m. from Randall's Island Field 10.
