SCRANTON, Pa. — The Pratt Institute women's soccer team saw their two-match win streak come to a halt with a 10-0 Atlantic East Conference defeat to Marywood University on Saturday afternoon.
League-unbeaten Marywood (12-3-2, 4-0-1) – who sit in a tie for first place – opened the scoring just two minutes into the contest and built a 3-0 lead by the 14th minute before racing into the lockers with an 8-0 lead.
Kat Thomsen and Emma Pratt registered the lone shots for the Cannoneers and Emma Gaspari finished with seven saves in defeat.
Pratt (5-10, 2-4) now awaits the result of the Centenarary University vs. Gwynedd Mercy University match on Wednesday, October 30 to see if they will qualify for the 2024 Atlantic East Conference Men's Soccer Championship. With a Centenarary win or tie, the Cannoneers will enter the postseason tournament as the No. 5 seed. With a Gwynedd Mercy win, Pratt ends their inaugural season in the league in 6th place.
