BROOKLYN, N.Y. — In their final tune-up before starting conference play, Kat Thomsen scored both goals for the Pratt Institute women's soccer team in a 3-2 defeat to SUNY Delhi on Saturday afternoon at Aviator Sports and Events Center.
The Broncos (5-4) scored twice in a span of just over five minutes in the 21st and 26th minutes to take a 2-0 lead after 45 minutes of play.
Thomsen got the Cannoneers (3-6) on the board 12 minutes into the second half finishing a feed from Alyssa Trujillo to pull Pratt within one. Madison Thorbourne scored her second goal of the game in the 73rd minute with a strong individual effort that padded the Delhi cushion to two.
WIth less than 90 seconds remaining in regulation, Claire Hook found a cutting Thomsen through the box for her brace that gave the Cannoneers hope for a tie but were unable to pull even.
Pratt opens their inaugural season in the Atlantic East Conference traveling to Gwynedd Mercy University on Wednesday, October 9 for a 7 p.m. showdown.
