LANCASTER, Pa. — Capping off the team's first season in the Atlantic East Conference, Pratt Institute junior Emily Sontag has been named to the All-Conference Second Team honors, announced by the league office today.
Sontag was the team's primary distributor over the season and handed out 362 assists (4.8 per set) and also serving a team-high 40 aces (0.5 per set) that was sixth in the league. She also was tied for second on the team with 23 blocks (four solo) and brought up 139 digs (1.83 per set).
Sontag highlighted her season posting a career-high 32 assists with a season-high 17 digs in a five-set triumph over City College of New York at home, one of three double-doubles on the season. She recorded seven matches with 20 or more assists and five matches with four or more aces.
In their inaugural season in the Atlantic East, Sontag helped the team to 7-16 overall mark finishing fifth in the conference and qualifying for the postseason tournament.
The Atlantic East Conference awards are voted on by the league's seven head coaches.
