BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The Pratt Institute men's volleyball team returned to the win column with a 3-0 triumph (25-17, 25-19, 25-20) over borough rivals Medgar Evers College on Thursday evening.
Pratt (5-13) used a strong service game to snap a seven-match skid combining for 26 aces matching a total last set against Cooper Union in 2019.
Brooks Reid served up a career-high 10 aces and dished out 19 assists for a double-double effort to go along with six digs. Max Wang also had a strong service game with a career-high nine aces and four kills.
Jason Raymond hit .400 for the night landing seven kills and three aces. Joji Kawamura contributed five kills and two aces. K Johnson and Wallace Hallot chipped in three kills apiece.
Pratt remained in control from the outset, winning the first eight points of the match with three aces from Reid powering the run. Reid would power a 6-0 run midway through the second stanza serving four aces to give the Cannoneers the lead for good.
Medgar would take a 13-8 lead in the third before an 8-2 spurt put Pratt back on top. The Cannoneers would extend it to a 16-3 run to pull away for good.
Cody Ramsey led Medgar Evers (0-14) with 10 kills and 12 digs.
Pratt wraps up their 2024 campaign and celebrate Senior Night on Tuesday, April 2 hosting the University of Valley Forge for a 7 p.m. match at The Hill Center.
