QUEENS, N.Y. — The Pratt Institute women's tennis team scored a 7-0 non-conference victory over Hunter College on Wednesday evening at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
Pratt didn't drop a set in their second outing of the season to remain unbeaten and improve to 2-0 on their young 2024-25 campaign.
The Cannoneers took all three doubles matches to secure the doubles point. Julia Ognibene and Victoria Delgado rolled to a 6-1 win in the No. 3 spot. Kayla Abraham and Srishti Agarwal teamed up in the lead match and Beatrice Crespo and Siya Sawhney paired up at No. 2, both winning by 6-3 margins.
In the singles session, Abraham posted the first point cruising to a win at love in the lead match while Crespo surrendered just one game in a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 2. Agarwal delivered the clinching point, winning her No. 3 match 7-6 (1), 6-2.
The remaining three matches finished in order with Ognibene prevailing 6-2, 6-3 at No. 4, Sawhney victorious 6-3, 6-0 at No. 5 and Alice Li scoring a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 6 to close out the sweep.
Pratt will travel to Saratoga Springs, N.Y. this weekend to compete in the ITA Regional Championship hosted by Skidmore College.
