BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Thomas Graetz scored a career- and game-high 17 points and the Pratt Institute men's basketball entered the lockers tied at halftime with Immaculata University before dropping a 66-57 decision in their first home Atlantic East Conference contest at the Activity Resource Center on Wednesday evening.
Graetz made five field goals and 7-of-10 from the charity stripe to surpass his previous career-best scoring output of 10. Mekhi Davis also finished in double figures with 13 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals. Cameron Windt added nine points and five rebounds. Sebastian Roda contributed season-highs of eight points, seven rebounds, and three steals coming off the bench.
After trailing by as many as nine in the first half, the Cannoneers (0-14, 0-3) closed out the final four minutes of the half on an 8-0 run remain deadlocked at 29-all at the intermission led by Windt's nine points.
Pratt took their first lead in four minutes into the second stanza, 33-32, after four straight points from Justin Caver, but later in the frame Immaculata pulled away for good with a 20-4 spurt to move ahead 57-41 with 6:14 to play. The Cannoneers responded with an 8-0 run powered by five points from Graetz to pull within two possessions, 57-51, but couldn't pull any closer.
John Proctor led Immaculata (6-11, 1-3) with a 14-point, 11-rebound double double and Dylan Crews added 14 points.
Pratt returns to the hardwood on Saturday, January 18 hosting Neumann University for a 1 p.m. Atlantic East Conference showdown.
