NEW YORK — The Pratt Institute women's soccer team rolled past Saint Elizabeth University, 13-0, on Wednesday night at Randall's Island to clinch the No. 4 seed for the 2025 Atlantic East Conference Championship and the program's first AEC playoff berth. The Cannoneers will host No. 5 Gwynedd Mercy University on Saturday at 3 p.m.
Pratt (8-5-2, 4-3) struck five times before halftime and added eight after the break to finish off a comprehensive performance. Kate Nolan (Perth, Australia) and Annabella Russell (Pacific Palisades, Calif.) each recorded hat tricks, senior Kat Thomsen (Palo Alto, Calif.) posted two goals and three assists, and Emma Pratt (North Attleboro, Mass.) chipped in two goals and an assist. Chloe Tien (Broomfield, Colo.) and Josey Kanach (Washington, D.C.) added a goal apiece, with Tien and Nolan also on the service in the attack.
The Cannoneers controlled the ball and the box throughout, outshooting Saint Elizabeth (2-9, 0-7) 46-1 and finishing with 34 shots on goal. Defensively, the back line limited touches in dangerous areas while senior goalkeeper Emma Gaspari (Naperville, Ill.) and junior Savannah DePaz (Chapel Hill, N.C.) combined for the clean sheet without facing a shot on frame.
Opposing goalkeeper Elizabeth Giamboy made 21 saves, and Chelsea Sarmiento registered the Eagles' lone attempt.
Up next, Pratt hosts No. 5 Gwynedd Mercy University in an AEC first round matchup on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Randall's Island Field 10.
