HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. — The Pratt Institute women's volleyball team wrapped up it's 2025 campaign on Saturday with a 25-12, 25-15, 25-20 road result at Centenary University inside the John M. Reeves Student Rec Center.
Pratt found a late spark in the third. Colleen Russell (Asbury, N.J.) and Joanna Doyle (Warren, N.H.) teamed for a block to make it 1-1, and the black-and-gold pushed ahead 10-7 on a run fueled by Russell's terminal swings and steady first-contact. Centenary (15-14, 3-4) answered at the service line, but the Cannoneers traded points down the stretch before the hosts closed it out.
Russell paced Pratt with eight kills, 10 digs and three solo blocks, hitting .250. Doyle added seven kills on .500 hitting with two block assists. Setter Eden Shih (Manhattan, N.Y.) distributed 20 assists, served an ace and tallied six digs, while Kelsy Padilla (Brooklyn, N.Y.) posted eight digs and a block assist. Maggie Hughes (Knoxville, Tenn.) added three kills.
The Cannoneers' defense tightened as the match wore on, holding the Cyclones to .073 in the third and stacking five team blocks overall. Russell's solo stops at the pin and Doyle's quick-set finishes in transition highlighted the final frame.
Centenary was led by Poppy Skjonnemand's 13 kills, three aces and two solo blocks. Vanessa Pagano handed out 20 assists with six aces, and Jenny Thistlethwaite added six kills and two aces.
The Cyclones clinched a spot as a No. 5 seed in the 2025 Atlantic East Championship tournament. Pratt concludes its third season under Head Coach Alex Moule with a 3-19 overall mark, eighth in the league.
