NEW YORK — The Pratt Institute women's basketball team faced a tough road test on Monday night, falling 82-36 to Baruch College at the ARC Arena.
Pratt (1-5) was led by fifth-year guard Kylie Grant (Dallas, Texas), who posted a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Graduate guard Miga Higa (Torrance, Calif.) joined her in double figures with 13 points, knocking down one of the team's two 3-pointers.
The Cannoneers kept it close early, with Lola Mactavish (Sydney, Australia) hitting a jumper and Dahlia Dimitrov (Montreal, Canada) finding Emily Carlson (Utica, N.Y.) for a layup to make it an 8-4 game midway through the first quarter. However, Baruch (3-5) responded with a run to take a 24-12 lead after one and extended the margin to 47-19 at halftime.
Pratt battled on the glass, pulling down 31 rebounds, but 25 turnovers hindered the offense. First-year forward Jordan Cho-Wolfe (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added four rebounds and two assists off the bench, while Dimitrov collected five boards and two steals.
Baruch featured a balanced attack with four players in double figures, led by Isabella Kostyal-Larrier's 20 points.
Pratt returns to the ARC on Wednesday, Dec. 3, to host CCNY at 7 p.m.
