IMMACULATA, Pa. — Senior goalkeeper Savannah Depaz (Chapel Hill, N.C.) stopped 15 shots, but the Pratt Institute women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Immaculata University in an Atlantic East Conference match on Saturday morning at Draper Walsh Stadium.
Depaz recorded a season high in saves to keep the Cannoneers within striking distance throughout the contest, but Pratt (7-4-0, 3-2) was unable to solve the back line of Immaculata (9-4-0, 4-1).
The Mighty Macs opened the scoring in the 17th minute when Heather Russell found the back of the net off an assist from Lily McGee.
Depaz made eight saves in the first half to keep the deficit at one heading into the intermission, while senior midfielder Emma Pratt (North Attleboro, Mass.) tested the opposing keeper in the 3rd minute with a shot on frame.
McGee found the back of the net in the 66th minute to give Immaculata an insurance goal.
Junior forward Kate Nolan (Perth, Australia) tested the Mighty Mac keeper in the 88th minute, putting a shot on target from the left side. Emma Pratt paced the attack with three shots, while Nolan accounted for the other two attempts.
Immaculata finished with a 41-5 advantage in total shots, including an 18-2 edge in shots on target, and earned 11 corner kicks while conceding none.
Pratt returns to the pitch on Saturday, Oct. 24, traveling to face Gwynedd Mercy University for the second time this season in an Atlantic East Conference matchup starting at noon in Gwynedd Valley, Pa.
