QUEENS, N.Y. — The Pratt Institute women's tennis team celebrated Senior Day with a 7-0 sweep of Marymount University on Saturday afternoon at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. With the victory, the team improved to a perfect 10-0 overall, finished 4-0 in league play, and locked up the No. 1 seed in the upcoming 2026 Atlantic East Conference Championship.
Prior to the match, the black-and-gold honored seniors Srishti Agarwal (Gurugram, India), Victoria Hatala (Brooklyn, N.Y.), Alice Li (Beijing, China), and Satoka Shibasaki (Tokyo, Japan) in a joint ceremony alongside the men's tennis program.
The Cannoneers carried the celebratory energy onto the courts, sweeping all three doubles matches to take an early lead. Agarwal and first-year Judith Song (Sharon, Mass.) struck first with a swift 6-1 victory at No. 2. First-year Olivia Tao (Ann Arbor, Mich.) and Shibasaki secured the team doubles point by battling to a 6-4 win at No. 3. At the top flight, juniors Pallavi Verghese (Fayetteville, Ark.) and Beatrice Crespo (Kearny, N.J.) completed the sweep with a matching 6-4 result.
In singles play, the hosts quickly put the match out of reach. Shibasaki set the tone with a flawless 6-0, 6-0 double-bagel victory at No. 5. Tao immediately followed with a 6-1, 6-0 triumph at the No. 6 spot. Song then delivered the decisive match-clinching point at No. 4, dispatching her opponent 6-1, 6-1 to secure the overall team victory.
The top half of the lineup ensured the shutout remained intact. Agarwal closed out her Senior Day in style with a 6-0, retired victory at No. 3 singles. Verghese added a commanding 6-1, 6-0 win at the top flight, and Crespo finalized the afternoon by taking the No. 2 match, 6-4, 6-1.
Having completed an unblemished regular season, Pratt now turns its attention to the postseason to defend its conference title. As the top seed, the Cannoneers will face No. 4 seeded Immaculata University in the semifinals of the 2026 Atlantic East Championship, on Friday, April 24, at Neumann University in Aston, Pa.
