NEW YORK — The Pratt Institute men's soccer team dropped a 4-0 non-conference decision to Hunter College on Tuesday afternoon at Randall's Island Field.

Sophomore goalkeeper Hayden Pettit (Houston, Texas) recorded a season-high 11 saves for Pratt (1-5-1), but Hunter (2-4-1) capitalized on a pair of goals from Filippos Lakiotis to secure the win.

The Hawks opened the scoring in the 33rd minute when Lakiotis converted a pass from Yassine Jaballah to put the hosts in front 1-0. Lakiotis struck again in the 53rd minute, finishing a service from Jaerang Lee to double the advantage. 

Hunter added to their lead with late goals from Andre Baraglia in the 79th minute and Michael Verdov in the 85th minute.

Pratt generated its best looks on target through Dylan Costa (Cresskill, N.J.) and first-year Pavel Emam (Arlington, Va.). Costa forced a save from Hunter starting goalkeeper Lucas Moon in the 40th minute, while Emam tested reliever Max Tsigalnitsky in the 50th minute.

Pettit kept the Cannoneers within range throughout the afternoon, stopping seven shots in the first half and four in the second. 

Emam paced Pratt with two shot attempts, while Costa, Arbab Umer Ayub (Karachi, Pakistan), Alex Abbruzzese (Staten Island, N.Y.), Lucca Novi (The Woodlands, Texas) and Yuming Liang (Beijing, China) each contributed one shot.

Hunter, Pratt's future conference rival starting next season, held a 22-7 advantage in shots, a 15-2 margin in shots on goal and a 5-2 edge in corner kicks. 

Pratt opens Atlantic East Conference play on Saturday, October 3, traveling to face Gwynedd Mercy University at noon in Gwynedd Valley, Pa.
