GLASSBORO, N.J. — The Pratt Institute women's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season, falling 7-0 to No. 18 Rowan University on Saturday at the Rowan Soccer/Lacrosse Complex.

Rowan (1-0-0) got on the board in the 3rd minute when Bella Moore scored off an assist from Riayn DiMeo, and never let up from there. The Profs scored three times in the first 23 minutes and carried that advantage to intermission before finding the back of the net four times in the second stanza.

Pratt (1-1-0) was unable to generate offense against a Profs defense – one of the stingiest in the nation last season, conceding just 10 goals – that held the Cannoneers without a shot on target. 

Emma Pratt (North Attleboro, Mass.) recorded the lone shots for the Cannoneers. Senior goalkeeper Savannah Depaz (Chapel Hill, N.C.) started in net for Pratt and made 11 saves across the full 90 minutes.

Sara Wiedeman finished with two goals and two assists to lead Rowan. 

Rowan held a lopsided edge in shots, 39-2, and 17-0 on goal, while also winning the corner-kick battle 16-1.

Pratt returns to action for its home opener on Wednesday, Sept. 9, hosting Kings County foes Brooklyn College at Randall's Island Field 10 kicking off at 7 p.m..
