David McFadden enters his first season as assistant men’s basketball coach at Pratt Institute in 2025-26, bringing a point guard’s perspective, a detail-driven approach and a growing track record in player development.
McFadden arrives from Brooklyn Basketball Academy, where he coaches an AAU travel team, leads individual skill sessions and designs practice plans to elevate player performance. He completed a five-week professional development workshop with coach Daniel Sokolovsky.
A four-year point guard at Brooklyn College, McFadden was a two-time captain and the 2024-25 team most valuable player. As a senior, he started 23 of 27 games and led the team in minutes (32.3), assists (91) and blocks (13), averaging 8.9 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists while shooting 41.6% from the field and 34.6% from 3. He finished his 91-game career for the Bulldogs scoring 693 points with 373 rebounds and 235 assists.
McFadden earned both a bachelor’s degree in economics and an MBA with an economic analysis focus from Brooklyn College. He graduated in spring 2025 with a 3.5 GPA and made the Dean’s List.
