Thomas Miller enters his first season as an assistant coach for the Pratt Institute women’s basketball team.
Miller joins the Cannoneers after two seasons on the Borough of Manhattan Community College women’s basketball staff, where he helped drive significant year-over-year improvements across the board. BMCC climbed into the national NJCAA Division III ranks in several categories, including Top 15 in blocks per game in 2024-25, while posting sizable gains in scoring, rebounding, assists and steals during his first season with the Panthers. His work supported two CUNYAC All-Stars, an NJCAA All-Region XV honoree and multiple scholar-athletes.
Before BMCC, Miller led the Calhoun School JV girls’ and middle school programs from 2017-23. He guided Calhoun to its first NYCAL regular-season and tournament championships in 2022-23, when the squad topped the league in scoring and defense, and built a consistent winner through a defense-first, development-focused approach.
At Pratt, Miller assists with practice planning, player development for guards and forwards, opponent scouting and recruiting.
A graduate of Southern New Hampshire University, Miller earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in sports management. He holds Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certification and is an Impact Basketball Certified Player Development Specialist.
Outside the court, Miller has worked in IT for 17 years and has been a freelance voiceover artist for TV, radio and corporate projects. He resides in Queens, N.Y., with his wife, Jovanna, and daughters, Makayla and London.
