Louis Sepulveda is entering his third season as the head coach women's volleyball programs at Pratt Institute.

In year one as the women's coach, Sepulveda led Pratt a record of 12-8 (3-1 HVIAC), an improvement of five wins from the previous season. Using an up-tempo offense, the Cannoneers advanced all the way to the HVIAC championship match before falling to defending champion New Rochelle.

Last season the Cannoneers improved to a school record 14 wins. Despite key injuries to the roster the team posted a record of 14-14. Freshmen Shannon Corr was named First Team All-ACAA and freshman Avery Toomes was named 2nd Team All-ACAA.

Sepulveda comes to Pratt having experience both as a head coach at the high school level and an assistant coach in the college ranks. Sepulveda has also coached club volleyball for the last 11 seasons.

Sepulveda was an assistant coach at Nassau Community College where he was in charge of the setters and implementing a fast-paced offense. In his tenure, he helped the Lions win three straight regional titles, as well as three straight trips to the National Tournament.

At Island Tree High School in Levittown, NY, Sepulveda had success turning around a program that was 2-14 prior to his arrival. He led them to an overall 15-8 record in his first year and a 15-1 mark in his second year, culminating with a conference championship.

Sepulveda left Island Tree to accept the role of head coach for Baldwin High School on Long Island. During his tenure, the Bruin’s enjoyed success building up the program that made the playoffs each season while reaching the county finals on two occasions.

After building Baldwin’s volleyball program, Sepulveda took over the highly successful Kings Park Volleyball program. In year one, they won the Suffolk County Championships. They will be competing for a ninth straight championship in 2019.

As a player, Sepulveda was a setter and played collegiate volleyball for Queensboro Community College and Navy. He played his club volleyball for Big Apple New York.  Coach Sepulveda has had some great influences in his life, learning from the likes of Russ Rose, Bob Bertucci, and John Kessel. He continues to play both on the beach and indoors. He has spent ten years coaching at Sportime Volleyball Club, where he has coached 14's, 15's 17’s and 18's with great success.

Sepulveda earned his Associate’s Degree from Westchester Community College and his Bachelor’s in Communications and Media Arts from the State University of New York at Oneonta.
Sepulveda is married and has a son. They enjoy spending quality time together.
