QUEENS -- Vaughn College opened up a 39-12 halftime lead in its 74-33 win over visiting Pratt Institute Wednesday night in men's Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference basketball play at Elmcor Gymnasium.
Freshman forward Ari Grant led Pratt with 12 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.
Warriors guard Jihad Ceaser led all players with 14 points. Forward Moises Chaucer added 10 points tied for team-high honors with seven rebounds as Vaughn improved to 6-7 overall and 3-1 in HVMAC play.
For the Cannoneers, Grant led the way with his 12 points and 12 rebounds, but shot just 4-22 from the floor as Pratt struggled to a 22 percent clip (12-55) from the floor. Forward Nicholas Lensander added 10 rebounds and James Peterson chipped in with 10 points for Pratt, which falls to 2-5 on the season (0-4 HVMAC).
Pratt returns to play on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in HVMAC play against Berkeley College at the Pratt ARC.
