BROOKLYN -- A 16-0 first half run comfortably set Berkeley apart from Pratt Wednesday night in Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Confernece men's basketball play at the Pratt ARC.
Forward Ari Grant led the Cannoneers with 18 points and a game-high 10 rebounds, the freshman's second straight double-double in two games out of winter break. Junior Sam Peterson added two points, two rebounds, two assists and three steals in the setback.
Berkeley forward Jose Stable totaled 20 points and a game-highs of nine assists and seven turnovers for the Knights, playing a team-high 37 minutes in the rout. Joval Boval led all players with 21 points and six steals in only 23 minutes, as the Knights trapped, suffocated and outran the Cannoneers for nearly 40 minutes in earning 36 fast-break points and forcing 31 Pratt turnovers.
The Cannoneers return to the floor Thursday, playing host to Cooper Union in renewing the nation's longest-dating men's basketball rivalry, with tipoff at the ARC at 7:30.
