PHOENIXVILLE, PA -- Pratt Institute men's soccer fell to 4-2 win a 5-0 setback at the University of Valley Forge Saturday afternoon.
The Patriots got on the board in the fifth minute, with Colton Swan scoring on a feed from Samuel Ngoi Bikim. Five minutes later, Billy Peron doubled the lead with anothe score from close range on a give from Gorge Andino, putting Valley Forge on top 2-0 9:09 into the contest.
"We made some critical mistakes to put ourselves in a hole," said Cannoneers head coach Jonas Worth.
Peron assisted on a Hunter Taylor tally in the 16th minute, and with 38 seconds remaining in the half, Chase Hill sent the Patriots into halftime with a 4-0 lead on an unassisted score.
Valley Forge controlled the half, outshooting Pratt 19-2, earning seven corner kicks to one for the Cannoneers.
Brandon Nekeyan earned the Patriots fifth and final tally with an unassisted goal in the 54th minute, and Valley Forge kept Pratt off the board the remainder of the way in a 5-0 win.
For the Cannoneers, Joseph Mendoza made a match-high 10 saves, and Ivan Vuckovic totaled team bests of three shots, two on goal.
At 4-2, Pratt returns to play on October 26 at 9:00 p.m. at Yeshiva University.
