UNION, NJ – The Pratt Institute women's volleyball team saw their six-game winning streak snapped Thursday evening as they fell to the Kean University Cougars in straight sets. The result brings Kean's record to 18-5, while Pratt drops to 6-3 overall.
"Despite the result, the team fought hard and didn't give up," noted head coach Louis Sepulveda. "This was a good match to learn from; we will only get better from it."
Facing one of the best defensive teams from the New Jersey Athletic Conference, Pratt was unable to get things going offensively, hitting just .015 for the match and registering just 16 kills.
Emelen Mikelic paced the Cannoneers with nine kills, while Anna Elisse Uy tied a personal-best with three kills. On the defensive side, Hannah Lee led Pratt with seven digs.
Up Next: The Cannoneers travel to Morristown, NJ for a non-conference tri-match against King's (PA) and host St. Elizabeth on Sunday. First serve is 10:00 am.
