Johnson City, N.Y. - September 22, 2018 - The Pratt Institute women's volleyball team were knocked off by College of New Rochelle but able to defeat host Davis College in their tri-match on Saturday.
Pratt entered the tri-match winners of three of their last four outings, and are now 5-6 on the season.
The Cannoneers started the day winning their first set, 25-23, only to drop the next three games, 25-23, 25-11, 25-14 in a loss to New Rochelle. Marlena Todd totaled a career-high 22 digs and nine kills while hitting .294 and Avery Toomes added five assists. Ivana Santascoy was credited with a team-high 25 digs and Shannon Corr delivered five blocks to lead the match.
In their second match of the day, Pratt prevailed past Davis College in five sets by the scores of 25-16, 25-20, 26-25, 17-25, 16-14. Madeline Markley was tied for a match-high 12 kills, which came at a .407 clip, while Shannon Corr chipped in seven kills and a team-high 21 digs. Toomes had 23 assists and 14 digs, to go along with 12 service aces, as the Cannoneers finished with 26 aces as a team.
