BROOKLYN, NY - The Pratt Institute's men's basketball team (1-1) dominated the Webb Institute in its home opener, 74-37 on Tuesday evening.
Griffin Levine (Dallas, TX) led the way with a game high 16 points. five rebounds, five assists and three steals.
King Turnbull (Houston, TX) added 13 points on 6-11 from the field while
Patrick O'Gorman (Glen Ridge, NJ) and
Arthur Palaci-Zani (New York, NY) had 10 points a piece.
Midway through the first half, Pratt used an 8-2 run to open up a 16-9 lead, its largest of the game. With 4:17 remaining in the half, leading 22-12, Pratt's defense tightened up, allowing just five points over the remainder of the half as it ended on a 15-5 run to take a 37-17 advantage into halftime.
Webb cut the lead to 13, five minutes into the second half, however the Cannoneers fought right back, going on an incredible 26-6 run over the next 12 minutes to blow the game open at 69-33. The Cannoneers would lead by as many as 40 before taking the game, 74-37.
Pratt had a 16-0 run in the second half, its largest to date. The Cannoneers held Webb to just 28% shooting from the floor and 21.4% from three.
Pratt dominated the paint, out-rebounding Webb 53-33 while forcing 29 turnovers.
The Cannoneers return to action on Friday when it hosts The New School University at 7:30 pm.
