BROOKLYN, NY - The Pratt Institute's women's basketball team (1-3) was edged in a close battle to Clarks Summit University, 50-38 on Tuesday evening.
Sophie Bischoff (Durham, NC) led the Cannoneers with 14 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks. Freshman
Beverlee Caraway (Pryor, OK) added 17 points and a season high seven steals.
Pratt started hot out of the gate, holding Clarks Summit to just five points in the first quarter. The Cannoneers scored the final five points of the quarter to take an 11-5 advantage.
Clarks Summit outscored Pratt 15-9 in the second period to tie the game at 20 heading into halftime.
The second half was controlled by Clarks Summit as it outscored Pratt, 30-18 en route to the 50-38 win.
Pratt held the Defenders to just 27.7% from the floor and forced 16 turnovers.
The Cannoneers return to action on Thursday when it hosts the King's College NY at 6 pm.
