BROOKLYN, NY - The Pratt Institute's men's basketball team (3-3) was outlasted in a back and forth tussle with Northern Vermont Lyndon, 87-83 on Saturday afternoon.
Patrick O'Gorman (Glen Ridge, NJ) topped 20 points for the first time in his career, finishing with 21 points on 5-7 from three, six rebounds and a steal.
Griffin Levine (Dallas, TX) added 20 points, nine assists and five rebounds.
Ace Bibbs (Philadelphia, PA) and
King Turnbull (Houston, TX) combined for 25 points.
The first half was a high scoring affair with Pratt taking a 51-41 lead into halftime. The 51 points were the most scored in the first half by the Cannoneers this season.
The Cannoneers led by 10 with 13 minutes remaining in the second half, however the Hornets used an 11-0 to take its first lead since the first half with 11 minutes to play.
Tha action continued to go back and forth and with just over two minutes remaining, Levine buried a three-pointer to tie the game at 79. Over the next 1:30, the hornets scored the next six points. Pratt could not get any closer than four in the final 20 seconds before falling, 87-83.
Pratt finished the game 14-29 from beyond the arc and forced 21 turnovers while committing just 14.
Pratt returns to action on Monday when it hosts Touro College at 8 pm.
