ALBANY, NY - The Pratt Institute's men's basketball team (7-7) scored 53 points in the second half for a come from behind win over Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, 83-69 on Wednesday evening.
Freshman
Patrick O'Gorman (Glen Ridge, NJ) scored a career high 31 points on 9-13 from the field including 5-7 from three and 8-8 from the free throw line.
Ace Bibbs (Philadelphia, PA) recorded his first career double-double, scoring 18 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
King Turnbull (Houston, TX) scored 10 of his 14 points in the second half. Turnbull added six assists and six rebounds.
Trailing 5-4 two minutes into the contest, the Cannoneers scored the next seven points to open up an 11-5 lead. Over the next five minutes, Albany Pharmacy went on a 14-3 run to regain a 19-14 advantage.
Pratt cut the deficit to 24-23 with 5:45 remaining, however Albany outscored the Cannoneers by seven over the final five minutes to take a 38-30 lead into halftime.
With Albany leading 40-30 to open the second half, the Cannoneers roared back, running off a 14-1 run over a three minute span to take a 44-41 lead. Both teams continued to go back and forth before Pratt bumped the lead to seven with just under 12 minutes remaining in regulation.
Pratt held on to a five point advantage with 2:55 remaining. Over the final 2:55, the Canonneers scored 12 of the final 15 points behind six points from O'Gorman to take the game by 14.
Pratt shot a blistering 58% from the floor in the second half. The 53 second half points are the most in a half for the Cannoneers this season.Â
The Cannoneers look for its third straight win on Friday when it hosts Maine Fort Kent at 12 pm.
