BROOKLYN, NY - The Pratt Institute's women's tennis team (1-2) fell in its second match of the season on Friday night to Baruch College before downing Yeshiva University on Sunday afternoon for its first win of the season.
On Friday, Pratt fell to Baruch College, 7-2. Â
Nastazja Cancellaro earned her first win of the season at second singles, winning in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1. Â
Playing in her first match, Amellie Stoddard rolled to an easy win at six singles, 6-1, 6-1.
On Sunday afternoon, the Cannoneers defeated Yeshiva University 6-3 for its victory of the season.
Sophie Bischoff and Cancellaro picked up their first win of the season at first doubles, 8-3. Â
Moira Cunningham and
Julia Ognibene also picked up their first win of the year with a dominating 8-0 win at second doubles.
Cunningham earned another win at second singles, winning in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3. Â Ognibene and Cunningham also picked up wins in their singles matches, 6-4, 6-3, and 6-3, 6-3, respectively.
At five singles,
Nicole Delp earned her first win of the season, 6-2, 6-1.
Pratt returns to action in the spring for the majority of their contests with the first happening in the beginning of March.
