HACKEtTSTOWN, NJ - The Pratt Institute's Women's Volleyball team (6-3) rolled to a sweep over Penn State Abington and Centenary University for its 3rd and 4th straight wins on Saturday afternoon.
In the first match against Penn State Abington, Pratt downed the Nittany Lions, 3-1 (16-25, 25-14, 25-20, 25-15).  Senior
Avery Toomes (Houston, TX) led Pratt with 38 assists, 13 digs and seven service aces. Â
Olivia Julich (Philadelphia, Pa.) finished with 16 kills and four blocks while
Zeynep Akgol (Istanbul, Turkey) added season highs of 17 digs and 11 kills.
As a team, Pratt had 69 digs, 47 kills and 42 assists.
In the second match, the Cannoneers dominated host Centenary, winning 3-0 (25-10, 25-11, 25-21). Â
Grace Kirschner (Indialantic, Fl.) finished with eight kills, eight digs and three service aces. Â Toomes added a game high 22 assists while Akgol tallied seven digs and four kills.
Pratt returns to action on Tuesday when it travels to Brooklyn College for a 7 pm start.
