STATEN ISLAND, NY - The Pratt Institute's men's and women's track & field teams competed at the NYC Gotham Cup at the Ocean Breeze Complex in Staten Island on Friday.
The men's team saw several school records fall on Friday. In the 800 meter race,
Thomas Perrone set a school record with a time of 2:02.68, finishing in 14th place.
Paden Spencer took hold of the Pratt record in the mile, running in a time of 4:24.78. Spencer and Perrone, along side
Bruce Westgate and
Dominic Paolini set the 4x800 team record, running in a time of 8:55.35.Â
In the field events,
Asa Brandyberry added a school record in the shot put, throwing 11.4 meters.Â
Siena Sujitno and
Christina Sancho-Spore led the way on the women's side.
Sujitno led the way in the 60m dash, finishing in a blistering 8.4 seconds.
Sancho-Spore paced the way in the 800 meter run, finishing in a time of 2:45.87.
Pratt returns to action on February 5 when it takes part in the Deshriver Invitational hosted by East Stroudsburg University.
