POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. — The Pratt Institute women's track and field team battled through a wet and rainy Saturday afternoon at the Vassar April Twilight meet, turning in several strong performances in its final tuneup before the Atlantic East Conference Championships.
Sophomore Jordana Halpern (Oceanside, N.Y.) paced the Cannoneers with a pair of fourth-place finishes in the field events. She recorded a mark of 31.48 meters in the discus and a 31.95 meters in the hammer.
Senior Giovanna Lisa (Reading, Pa.) had an impressive season debut in the 3000-meter steeplechase, completing the challenging event in a personal-best 13:07.51 to secure a sixth-place finish.
Also earning a top-10 result was first-year Lina Darcy (Newton, Mass.), who took seventh place in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 20.26.
In other field events, junior Hannah Kim (Camas, Wash.) placed eighth in the hammer (23.67 meters) and ninth in both the shot put (9.87 meters) and javelin (23.55 meters). Junior Kemi Ayeni (Stockbridge, Ga.) competed in the long jump improving on her season-best with a leap of 4.05 meters..
On the track, first-year Sarah Godlewski (Plymouth, Mass.) finished the 400-meter dash in 1:08.89, and senior Kathleen Chen (Livingston, N.J.) ran in both the 400 meters (1:24.80) and 1500 meters (6:35.21), a new personal-best.
The Cannoneers will now turn their attention to the 2026 Atlantic East Conference Championships, which will be held next May 2-3 at Immaculata University.
