BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Ryan Nelsen and Thomas Klebe were both victorious at singles but the Pratt Institute men's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision on the road to Brooklyn College (1-0) on Saturday afternoon.
Nelsen defeated Aymen Kuc at No. 2 singles in straight sets, 6-0, 6-4, and Klebe bypassed Eden Lawrence in the No. 6 singles match, 6-1, 6-2, for the Cannoneers lone points.
Mehul Bhargava and Nelsen played a tough match at No. 1 doubles before succumbing in a tiebreaker, 8-7 (10-7). Matthew Stachura rallied after dropping the opening set of his No. 3 singles match to Mordecai Lev to force a third-set super tiebreaker before falling, 6-3, 2-6, 1-0 (10-7).
Pratt resumes their 2022-23 schedule in the spring hosting Bard College on March 4 at the USTA National Tennis Center.
