ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Pratt Institute men's basketball team (1-1) suffered their first loss of the season falling to SUNY Oneonta, 85-34, in the opening round of the Michael A. Freilich Tournament on Friday evening.
Junior Patrick O'Gorman led nine different Cannoneers to contribute to the ledger finishing with 10 points. First-year Sebastion Roda chipped in six points and junior Daniel Golub added four points and four rebounds.
The hosts raced out to an early lead and Pratt couldn't close the gap. Oneonta (2-0) shot 47 percent on the home floor while the black-and-gold connected on just 24 percent. Daniel Derice paced the Red Dragons with game-highs of 15 points and seven boards.
Pratt will wrap up their trip upstate facing SUNY Cobleskill in the consolation game tomorrow at 1 p.m.
