EWING TOWNSHIP, N.J. – Nine different Cannoneers recorded a field goal as the Pratt Institute men's basketball team suffered an 84-40 defeat to The College of New Jersey in the TCNJ Tip-Off Tournament first round on Friday evening.
Cameron Hatcher led Pratt (1-4) with nine points off the bench and also grabbing two rebounds. Thomas Van Trier, Patrick O'Gorman, Aaron Nisbett and Lucas Zamboni each chipped in a quintet of points. Sebastian Roda grabbed a team-high seven rebounds and added three points and two steals.
Danny Bodine paced TCNJ (1-1) with 18 points, eight rebounds and three blocks and Jason Larranaga chipped in three blocks.
The host Lions raced out to an 11-point lead in the first five minutes and the Cannoneers maintained that deficit for nearly 10 minutes before TCNJ scored 10 unanswered and continued to pull away to a 50-21 lead at halftime.
Pratt faces Penn State-Altoona in the consolation game tomorrow at 3 p.m.
