BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Sophomore Kylie Grant and senior Kinako Miyake combined for 39 points as the Pratt Institute women's basketball team fell to York College, 83-39, on Saturday afternoon in the Dr. Betty Shabazz Invitational hosted by Medgar Evers College.
Entering the weekend tied for fifth in the nation in double-doubles, Grant posted her fifth of the season with a 24-point, 15-rebound, two-block effort. Miyake added 15 points, with four rebounds and shot a perfect 7-of-7 from the charity stripe. Sophomore Rohama Tewodros grabbed a career-high nine rebounds.
Alicia Gumbs had a game-high 27 points with five steals and three blocks to lead York (3-2) while Mac-Dege Dessources recorded a 26-point, 21-rebound, seven-block double-double.
Pratt concludes their appearance at the Shabazz Invitational facing host Medgar Evers tomorrow at 2 p.m.
