BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Despite four scoring in double figures, the Pratt Institute men's basketball team saw their two-game winning streak ended by a 79-64 defeat to Lehman College on Monday evening at home at the Activity Resource Center.
Junior Patrick O'Gorman paced the Cannoneers (3-8) with 23 points while dishing out a game-high eight assists to go along with five rebounds. First-year Sebastion Roda drained four three-pointers off the bench to match his season-best 12 points. Junior Daniel Golub reached double figures for the second time this season with 11 points on 5-of-10-shooting paired with seven rebounds. Sophomore Cameron Hatcher registered a 10-point, 13-rebound double-double – his first of the season – and rejected three shots.
Lehman (6-2) was led by Isaiah Geathers's 29-point, 10-rebound double-double and Mo Idrissou's near double-double with 22 points and nine boards.
After an opening bucket for Golub, the visitors responded with nine straight and led the rest of the way. Lehman held a 15-8 lead at 12:40 before back-to-back trifectas by Roda shrank the deficit to one nearing the midway point of the half. Pratt found themselves down by nine later in the half but pulled within three before heading into the lockers trailing, 34-29.
Pratt trailed by four early in the second stanza, but the visitors improved to 47 percent shooting over the final 20 minutes to pull away. Lehman pulled away by as many as 18 and a late 6-0 Pratt run gave a glimmer of hope, but the Cannoneers couldn't bring the deficit down to single digits.
The Lightning outshot the Cannoneers 42 to 32 percent for the contest and shot 44 percent from deep with 10 made treys. Pratt sank seven three-pointers, but could only connect at a 22 percent clip. The squads drew even on the rebounding battle, 43-43, and Pratt made just one more turnover, 16-15.
Pratt hits the road for their penultimate game of the semester on Thursday, December 8th, making the short trip to borough foes Brooklyn College. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
