BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Sophomore Kylie Grant flirted with her ninth double-double of the season with a game-high 19 points but the Pratt Institute women's basketball team dropped a 61-30 decision to Ramapo College on Sunday afternoon at the Activity Resource Center.
Grant extended her scoring streak in double figures to 17 games and fell one rebound shy of a double-double grabbing a team-high-tying nine caroms also collecting pairs of assists, steals, and blocks.
Kinako Miyake added five points, two rebounds and two assists and Rohama Tewodros chipped in four points and nine boards.
Ramapo (13-2) was led by Allison Ahern's 12-point, 12-rebound double-double and Carley Martin added 10 points as all nine Roadrunners scored a field goal. The visitors outshot the yellow-and-black connecting on 38 percent and held a 63-38 edge on the boards.
A pair of Grant and Miyake buckets gave Pratt (1-14) an early 4-0 lead before the Roadrunners scored six straight. The teams traded the lead a couple more times before Ramapo held a narrow 12-9 lead after 10 minutes of play. But the Roadrunners would stretch their lead in the second moving ahead 23-13 going into the lockers and pulled away for good in the second half.
Pratt continues a four-game home stand hosting Connecticut College on Thursday, January 19 in a 6:30 p.m. showdown at the ARC.
