NEW YORK – The Pratt Institute men's soccer team dropped a 5-2 result to Centenary University on Saturday afternoon at Randall's Island Field 10.
The Cyclones (2-12-1) scored four goals in the opening 20 minutes to take control of the contest. Pratt (1-9-1) got on the board just before the intermission with goalkeeper Carter Tillman scoring on a free kick from their defensive end to cut the deficit to 4-1 at the intermission.
Pratt's future Atlantic East Conference rivals got an early second half goal to re-extend their lead before Griffin Benkovszky scored his team-leading seventh goal of the season in the 63rd minute.
Centenary maintained a 23-8 advantage in shots. Tillman finished with nine saves.
The Cannoneers honored their lone senior Jacob Hamilton prior to the game. The graphic design major has played in 42 games for the gold-and-black, making 39 starts, registering one goal and one assist.
Pratt travels to Yonkers to face Sarah Lawrence College on Monday, October 23 at 7 p.m.
