Men’s Basketball Takes Wire-to-Wire Win Over Bryn Athyn

Cameron Windt scored a game-high 18 and Patrick O'Gorman scored 16 in the 72-60 triumph.

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Pratt Institute men's basketball team scored the first 13 points of their home game against Bryn Athyn College and never trailed again, knocking down a season-high 13 three-pointers en route to a 72-60 home triumph on Monday evening at the ARC.

Pratt (3-4) snaps a four-game skid after winning their first two while Bryn Athyn (4-2) suffers their second-straight loss after winning their first four.

First-year Cameron Windt led all scorers with 18 points, raining six trifectas, pulling down four boards, and registering pairs of assists, steals and blocks. Senior Patrick O'Gorman followed with 16 points on 3-of-6 shooting and 7-of-8 from the free-throw line, whille dishing out five dimes with a trio of boards and thefts. First-year Jaden Young rounded out three in double figures with 12 points off the bench with five caroms and three assists.

Senior Thomas Van Trier pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds to go along with five assists and three points. Rookie Quinn McCormick added seven points, 12 boards and a rejection off the bench.

Pratt blitzed the Lions from the opening tip connecting on their first five field goal attempts and Windt and O'Gorman combining for three treys in the 13-0 opening spurt. After the visitors pulled within seven, 21-14, midway through the period, a 12-2 Cannoneer grew the lead to its largest of the half at 17, and Pratt went into the lockers with a 36-26 lead behind the strength of a 57 percent (13-for-23) shooting effort.

The Cannonners widened their lead to as many as 21 in the second half, 59-38, with 6:30 to play before seeing the Lions chip away at the deficit, but Pratt maintained their distance and a double-digit lead. 

Isaac Marshal led Bryn Athyn with a 14-point, 12-rebound double-double off the bench. Jalen Cary and James Dyson added 10 points each.

Pratt hits the road for the next two against Skyline Conference opposition, traveling to Bronxville, N.Y. to face Sarah Lawrence College on Thursday, November 30 at 7 p.m.
