BROOKLYN, N.Y. – First-year Anabela Jakelic flirted with a triple-double scoring 24 points, grabbing as many rebounds and rejecting six shots but the Pratt Institute women's basketball team came up short in a 73-50 defeat to Baruch College on Tuesday evening.
Jakelic finished shooting 11-of-20 from the field and set new career-highs in points, rebounds and blocks. Kylie Grant also registered a double-double with 22 points and 13 rebounds to go along with four assists. Almudena Valenzuela chipped in four points, four assists and three rebounds.
Baruch (3-3) led from start to finish and was paced by Mia Castillo who finished with a 30-point, 12-rebound, 11-assist triple-double. Elissa Leung contributed 23 points.
Pratt (0-6) continues a three-game home stand on Saturday, December 2, welcoming Centenary University to the ARC for a noon showdown.
